Hi wondering about where to get some nice driftwood at a good price. The lfs all seem so pricy, looking for some large pieces for a 125. See some nice stuff on ebay but makes nervous about where it comes from although there is a guy on ebay saying that he wire brushes and bakes it in the oven to kill any parasites. Anybody buy driftwood from ebay, if so how you make out with it? Any kind of wood I should stay away from for a freshwater setup?
Thanks for the help.

I bought all of my driftwood from eBay for my 300 including one beautiful piece that was 36" long. So far no known parasites hitched a ride.

I used Tiger Barbs to cycle the tank and also to make sure the water was safe from the driftwood.

If I was introducing a piece from eBay to an already established tank I'd probably treat it again myself just to be safe.

I agree, you don't want to assume everything is ok.

there is a guy on some other forums that I won't mention (BTW, is there some sort of rivalry that I know about? I see people on both making backhanded gestures at the other... and yeah, you know which one I am talking about) that orders all his wood from manzanita.com. I was hesitant at first, but it looks real nice. He paid around $100 after shipping and got enough wood to start a forest.

I took medium sized pcs from petco stacked and other wise arranged them on a table then drilled and attached together with black zip ties for my 180 gallon.
