Can you get it not to turn your water yellow?

I havent put it in my tank because i keep putting it in really hot water and it keeps turning yellow. What do you mean Carbon

carbon, like the stuff in your filter. fill a media bag with it and put it in a high flow area until it absorbs all the tannins, which are causing the discoloration.

don't bother my fish....soak the wood, boil it, wash it, and add it to your tank. and do water changes.

Some fish like it. Tannic acid causes the water to turn brown or yellow. If the fish are from an area with acidic water, they will probably love it. I've had different tetras and rasboras go into a spawning frenzy when new driftwood was introduced
