I put in a piece of vine like driftwood three days ago and today it is covered in White film like fungus. Is this harmful for Altums? I din't put it in my Altum tank, but I want too and want to make sure this will not cause them a problem.

a lot of wood will get that white fungus. my bn pleco cleaned most of it from my manzanita. It will go away in a month or so and will not harm your fish or affect your water. some people will remove the wood and clean it, but in my tank it was'nt an option. I have wild discus so don't worry, your fish will be fine.
Make sure you aren't using that vine-like reptile wood that isn't for aquariums. It will rot quickly and cause problems.
