driftwood

i'm looking to get some driftwood but right now its a little out of my price range. i know that some of you guys will go out and find it. when you do that, what are you looking for and where do you go? by rivers or in the woods? also when you find a piece from the wild, do you guys boil it? and how hard is it to get to sink?

Go to the river banks and you should try to boil it. If it is too big, I take mine to the car wash and spray it down. It will sink in time. Every piece is different.
