Driftwood

I just got the driftwood ready to put in and realized I'm already running peat fiber. Can I run both peat fiber and put the driftwood in? Will it lower the ph too much? I have rays in the tank and dont want to stress them.

Howdy,

No problemo, peat acts as a buffer. I'd still check the pH regularly just to be on the very safe side.

It should only take it so low, it wouldn't keep on lowering it.

Is there any way it can take the ph too low? I've already took it out cause they seemed mad and it took up half my 60 gallon. I'm still interested in the info though because I'm going to move them to a 200 gallon and I want the driftwood in there for sure.
