I definitely don't want that Tanish color in my tank so hopefully if I boil them it would be good i have another big driftwood that's growing like a white layer of something on it.... know anything about thatPut them in big bucket and soak in boiled water few times and they good to go in your tank, if you setup a new tank and don't mind the tannish color then power wash it and you can put them in your tank right away while cycling your tank..
I'm not sure you're beware that even if you boiled the woods for days its still leech out the tannish color, it's just at minimal rate.I definitely don't want that Tanish color in my tank so hopefully if I boil them it would be good i have another big driftwood that's growing like a white layer of something on it.... know anything about that
it does stop at some point right haha^ that's true. I had some relatively large pieces and I BOILED them a couple times for over an hour. You will still have tannins, but it will be much less in my experience. More frequent WC would help too.
I'm not sure my driftwood still leech out the tannish color after 7 years, since I love the nature look so I don't really mind the tannish color and my fish love it though (The color does get lighter with time but you won't get 100% clarity clear water unless you use activated carbon).it does stop at some point right haha
