How long should I soak the driftwood for. Any tips of safe additives to make this process more effective. I am allowing it to soak 24 hours then draining the container then refilling it with hot water.

Should till it sinks and all tanins are leeches out. Unless you want to have some color in the tank and then just till it sinks.

Are you soaking it to get Driftwood waterlogged or was it collected from somewhere and not purchased at the LFS?

Boil the wood. Hot water is much less efficient. After the water turns darker, toss out the water and start again.

Even after that, it may take months to remove all the tannin. Since no one knows where the wood came from or what type of wood it is, everyone will have to guess.

Only issue I have it's unable to fit it in a pot lol

I have a large piece of driftwood (mopangi) sorry about spelling in my 80 gallon and it still turns the water a little bit of a tea color after 5 years. I actually like the color and the fish could care less

Based on your pot and size of the driftwood you can boil and flip to the other half. Even with boiling I continued to have tannins that was noticeable for 6-9 months. Of course that also depends on the size of wood relative to water volume.
