Hi,

Which would be better overflow? to drill the tank or use a diy overflow?
My tank is 8x2x2 ft but it already has lots of fish in it.
would it be safe to drill the side glass of the tank? or in this case would it be better to use an overflow without drilling?

i was planning to use a diy overflow but was adviced that it would be better to drill?

need advice. the tank is already filled with big fishes.

thanks.

i would not drill because it is easyer

you cant drill a tank with fish in it. well you proboably could but it wouldnt be very safe for you, your fish, or your tank. a diy overflow will work extremely well if built properly.

Draining the tank half way or so can be done to accomodate drilling if it's high on the back pane (my upcoming plan using a right angle battery drill). Just be sure the pane you plan on drilling is not tempered.
HOB overflows are an option that's "easy", and I've used them in the past, but found myself untrusting and paranoid of them failing.
Gravity is a constant powerful thing, unlike siphon technology that can fail for various reasons.

thanks for the advice. will go for Overflow :)
was considering using only 1 diy overflow with diameter of 1.5 inch.
but read 2 i inch overflow would be better than a 1.5 inch :)
problem is more work lol :D
