So I am planning on picking up a 225 from Charlie in January and had a few questions.

1. I am planning on getting two holes drilled in the back, what should the diameter of the holes be? Was thinking either 1" or 1.5" diameter

2. Where should the holes be positioned? Was thinking 4" below the frame and 4" away from their respective sides. I am completely opposed drilling holes in the bottom panel.

Planning on putting in a 60-75 gallon sump with 2 quietone return pumps ~1000 gph each, also going to move my extra fx5 from my 240 to this new tank.

edit: forgot to mention the dimensions of the tank 6L x 30"W x 2H

If they are going to be used as drains, I'd drill them to accept 1 1/2" bulkheads. In my opinion you should have 2 for the drains and I'm not sure what kind of pump or pumps you are going to use but I would do 2 holes for 1" bulkheads for the returns.

The size of the holes you drill depends on what size PVC you are going to use. The bulkheads for the PVC will require holes that are considerably bigger than the PVC. For instance, I am using 1.5" PVC on my new tank. The bulkheads for my 1.5" PVC require holes 2 3/8" to 2 1/2" in diameter.

If you haven't purchased your bulkheads yet, here's a source that gives the hole size you will need for different bulkheads.
