Ok, I'll start the argument, I mean discussion :D.

Two 1.5"-2" bulkheads, one in each rear bottom corner for Durso drains, do you want to return the water from the bottom too?

Dr Joe

.

My 320g plywood tank has one 1.5" bulkhead in a corner overflow with a durso stand pipe draining to a 60 gallon wet/dry sump full of pot scrubbers. The return pump is a reeflow Barracuda connected to 1.5" clear hose and pipe to the other upper rear corner of the tank. The pump is a little overkill but it's throttled back and should last a long time. I also use a Fluval 404 cannister filter.

what would be easier to do pump it back from the bottom or from the top.

If it drains from the bottom, you have to take extra precautions (like float valves) or your tank will drain completely in a power outage... If it drains from the top, it won't catch all the extra pieces of poop that stay on the bottom. Decisions, decisions.

its going into the basment ok i like the idea of having it on the top i use powerheads to move poop around
