Hi everyone I need to drill the top of my acrylic tank 225gal 5x3x2 and i like to know ....
-Is it easy
-Has anyone crack the acrylic
-How long does it take
I'm going to drill 4 holes for 2 FX5 and 1.5 drill size

Thanks guys!!

It's real easy. Think it through long and hard before you drill. Go real slow.

Can't go too slow with acrylic. It would melt.

Thanks for all the feedbacks!
Around here I won't be able to get a sheet of acrylic to practice too and my tank is still really new so I'm scare to crack the acrylic

I know ppl say it's easy but I'm scare to mess up 1 hole

Its like drilling through wood, similar speed and everything, just plan where and drill, easy as that.

Do I use a wood bit?

Yep.

Hole saws work best imo.

I've never drilled an acrylic tank but I've drilled tons of acrylic sheeting up to 5/16" ....and tons of glass tanks.

Just go slow, don't force it. Use very minimal pressure. Just let the drill do it's thing.

Hold a block of wood against the backside of the acrylic tight. Most mistakes happen when the drill exits the hole. Give it something to crash into.
