HOw difficult is it to drill a hole for a bulkhead in a glass tank?

no idea joey
but i am sure it can be done but i bet the drill bit is probly very expensive
would probly be cheaper to let a pro do it

just my 2 cents

Ya Ill prolly end up buying a Overflow that hangs on the back of the tank.

or make one i made mine for my 75 gallon and only have ten bucks in it

I thought about a DIY one, but cant figure out how to get a continuos flow without having it completely submerged. can you take a few pics of yours?

here it is well this one isn't mine but i made mine exactly the same way
i found it on another forum
it works perfect

With the right bits and technique, you can drill a hole in glass using a dremel, rotozip, or drill press. That being said, if you only need a couple holes, don't waste the time or effort trying to DIY.

Most local glass shops will drill holes for ~$15/hole. I highly advise having your tank drilled. Also, make sure you leave enough room for durso standpipes, as they will go a long way towards quieting things down. Hang on overflows are absolute disasters waiting to happen.

That looks pretty interesting. Using a uplift tube to keep the overflow going. Im gonna give this some thought.

it works perfect flowing about 600 gph using 1 inch pvc
i just dipped the whole thing in the tank to fill it the once in place and all connections our hooked up just suck on the airline check valve to get the rest of the water out
peice of cake
