drilling near death accident

i spent the last day reformatting my tank
i bought an AC70 to go on but it didn't fit over the lip
my plan was to drill a couple of holes as marker points to remove part of the lip
during the first hole i managed to get through and because i was standing above i put too much weight on it and smashed the drill into the glass
heard the crack..
looked down to see the crack ran perfectly straight along the axis
so i just pulled the bit of the lip off and managed to save about 50mins of work with my stupidity

by death i meant i would of killed myself if it was an important piece of glas

+2 on that when I first read it, I had a pretty hard time imagining the 'near death' experience as well.

i think he means he would of commit suicide if he failed. i donno... i might be wrong, its kinda funny how everything played out in my head.
