Little problem. How long should the GE1 cure before I test drive?

Being that it's set up inside the house, I would wait at least 3 days until I tested filled it. I'd personally take the tank outside to test fill, especially since you have wood floors. Good luck

I think they recommend 3 days minimum, so if you want to be extra safe, give it a few more days to make sure its cured all the way through?

I'd go at least 5 days, but I'm paranoid. it took 7 days for my GE-1 to go clear when I did my sump baffles.

I agree with the "take outside to try" unless you are very confident in your tank resealing skills. If you don't take it outside, I would personally wait at least 7 days if the product said to wait 3, but that also depends on the weather. If it is really humid, I might even wait longer. Some would probably call me overly cautious, but that's me.

If it isn't too late for you to make a change, GE1 isn't what you should be using. It is not an adhesive, it is a sealant. GE make another silicone product that is an adhesive and it is what the manufacturers use on new tanks. It is called Momentive. I am getting ready to build a 700 and have been doing a lot of research. Check it out.

I'll be looking into that momentive,Rodger.

Which Momentive product are you considering using, Rodger?

RTV103 Black for the side seams and RTV108 clear for the bottom and eurobracing. Grainger has the best price I have found so far. I haven't found a lot of sources for it.
