Drip Plate.

What size holes and how many on a drip plate measuring approx 18 x 23 inches? It's approx 120 gallon sump and it's running a dart pump but the flow can be controlled. The water rises up until the bio ball chamber and just flows over into the bio ball chamber on top of a drip plate. Here are some pics. Thanks for any help.

i would do 3/16" or 1/4" holes 1" oc in both directions

I would say 3/16" would be better the way you make it sound is that the water has to just run down the sump wall onto the drip tray. If thats the case then make the hole smaller so that the water has a chance at getting to the far side
