I was reading a reply by john c and I was wondering who out there runs a drip system and will still do large water changes once in awhile?
My rays seem to enjoy the big water change once in awhile. There more active and eat way better if I do not to mention the breeding activity kicks up a notch. My nitrates are under 20ppm all the time with the drip so the water change over is sufficient. Anybody else experience anyting similar

most people i know still do large water changes every month or 2

i have a friend here who runs a 50gal/day drip on his 240. don't know if he does wc's or not. I'm thinking about a drip....

The only time I'll do a water change is if I need to do a gravel vac.

my 300gal ponds still get foul even when on drip. it seems that i do about 50% to 75% once every 3 to two weeks and i experience the same they seem to increase there activity after a water change. i have drip run about 40gal a day. good thead i will tune in.
