So I'm not sure if this is better posted here or in the Filtration Section? But I'll give it a shot here. Moderators move it if its in the wrong place.

Anyways, I got my drip system up and running last night. Man am i excited. I've looked this question up a bit with no solid answers (maybe there isn't one). I'm dripping at 2gph currently 336 gallons a week... I'm thinking this may be a bit much considering as of tomorrow the only 2 inhabitants will be 2 5-7 inch Festae. My tap water has 10-15ppm of nitrates. I of course have a inline filter to remove chlorine (Fontana, CA does not add chloramines). I'm turning over my tank 1.9 times a week (200%) water change so i think maybe I should cut it down to 1gph? That would be 168 gallons a week and turning over my water .93 times a week (almost 100%). Before this set up I was doing one 50% change a week. So i could even get a .5gph for that but ive heard a constant water change is not as effective as one major change so I really dont want this method to be less effective than the last.

I also have it dripping 2gph to try and "flush the tank" man is it clear. It has NEVER looked this good, the fish are very active and seem to like it.

So should I cut down to 1gph? kinda worried about the water bill "wastage". I was think toput it on 2gph once in awhile. Just having it on 2gph for 24hrs has made the tank crystal clear.
