Hello. Looking to start a drip system for one of my aquariums. I currently have an Eshopps HOB overflow that I used in the past that worked flawlessly for a sump. Can I use this? My concern was that the gallons passing through would be considerably less, probably only 25 gpd.

You dont need and overflowkit. Just a glassdrillbit, a bulkhead and some pvc.

This is what I would do! Drilling a tank is not nearly as scary as it seems when you have never done it before.

I would probably opt for 3/4" pvc (way overkill in size but gives you plenty of extra room to keep from plugging). Put the bulkhead down a good 1"to 2" from your water line. Put an elbow pointing up on the on the inside of the bulkhead. put a vertical piece of pvc pipe in the elbow to set the tank water level. Cut a little 1/8" x 1/8" notch in the top edge of the PVC pipe. Put some very large mesh around the pipe to keep any garbage out of it.

I used the diy overflow on my tank for my drip system and it worked flawlessly. It still is and has never lost siphon. At 1 to 4 gph it was great. The lower the flow the less chance of losing prime imo.
