Drip system

Can anyone tell me how to make a drip system?

I have very little idea what they are but here's what I think they are.

Basically water flowing from the tap to the sump at a very low rate x drips as second. The point of the system is to replace water lost to evaporation automatically.

So my two questions are this.

1 Do I have a close understanding of a drip system?
2 how do I get it setup?

I have a 6 stage R/O system with dual Deionization filter, I have the output plumbed to my kitchen sink and to a tube leading to the sump. Do I simply restrict the tube going to the sump so that it only drips x/Drops per second? or is there more to it?

People use drip systems to eliminate the need for weekly water changes and to acheive continuously high water quality. There are several threads in this forum detailing how people built theres.

replacing water is the main point of the drip system ,they reduce the bioload on the filter and also help stop water chemistry fluctuations due to evaporation so help maintain a more stable system.

After your finished reading all the info from your seach here, go to rainbird and find locate an inline pressure regulator (25psi) and then select the proper drip emitter for your needs (they are rated in ghp or fractions there of).

If this is too much water a timer and solenoid valve can be added to the water supply to lower the amount added. You will still need to have the tank or sump plumbed to a drain for overflow.

hum I was a little drunk last night but I though I searched for a drip system on here. I'll try again sober
