I made my filter a few years ago, but as you can see in the picture the acrylic piece I used for the drip tray has warped. I bought it in Home Depot, and it's about 1/8" thick. Any suggestions for something that won't warp and I can still drill lots of holes in?

use sheets of ABS plastic. my local plastics shop sells and its dirt cheap. i get the 1/4". comes in black and is easy to drill. you can even get it online, Tap Plastics

why not just replace it? A few years is a pretty good run for a piece of acrylic that only costs a couple of bucks.

You could go with glass of you want something that won't warp again. But I will be a little more labor intensive to drill it.

It actually started to warp soon after I set the system up. Could buy another piece, but want something that won't curl.

Thanks. Will check out the plastic sheets and pegboard. I have heard of the peg board, but have never seen it at the local Lowes. How big are the holes?

off the top of my head, bout the diameter of a #2 pencil.

You could try Home Depot too. For where I am, HD doesnt carry it, but Lowes does. It's usually in the back by the fencing/wood.

yeah i gave up on that plastic pegboard. i should have bought some when they had it in stock. that stuff is nowhere to be found. at least not in cali!!!!!!!!!!!

What you need to do with acrylic is weld a 1" strip all the way around the drip tray. This will keep it from warping, as well as give you a 1" lip to to direct the water into the drip tray instead of running off the sides.
