I have a 180 that divides my basement. On one side is my computer/office and the other the rest of my tanks and sitting area. My fish would look better with a nice black background but if I do that I can't see them while I work. Has anyone had any luck making a background that can be lowered and fixed in place and raised back up?

Never heard of a roll down background but a pull down Window Shade came to mind.
Like one of those roll down world maps from high school history class. Get a blank canvas one of those and paint it how you like
If the op can make it work nicely then I might actually do the same for my 75 gallon so that I can have a curtain covering the window and in the same spot be used as a background for the tank
serpa design has a video where he uses a roll down back ground.
