Drop eye in Cichlids??

Ok as far as i know, this is something that is predominent in arowanas, but i've never seen it in cichlids. Is it possible?

The reason i ask, is i today when i looked at my dad's tank he has a severum that looks like it has drop eye. It seemed bizarre to me. but there is appears to be the same build up behind the eye like in arowanas. I will try and get pictures tomorrow.

well that was a lot of help. Here's a video of the severum. The pictures didnt come out well.
