^ Instead of asking him to use the "All-so-mighty" search function in every post, how about being useful for once and actually contribute to the thread? Like searching for it and post the link? Frankly its getting annoying to see the same answer in every post.

To OP, Here is all you need to know about DE

There are DE, food, size, and sexing threads every 2 days lol. You wouldn't need the search function if you had just scrolled down a bit further.

Haha I don't visit the arowana forum that often. But won't it get boring without them?

First of all, suggesting the search function is a valid answer. It may not be very friendly towards a newer member, but I don't see any judgment or sarcasm or berating going on in that post.Secondly, it's not spam. And thirdly, if someone chooses to not provide links, that doesn't make them "not useful". If someone wants to provide links, that's great, but I'm not sure where it became expected to do so.

As a moderator in this folder, I get tired of seeing the exact same three threads over and over again, and all fully answered, only to sit in perpetual history waiting for someone to find them through the search function. All the info is even sitting in the stickies in this folder waiting to be read. But I don't tell people not to post, I know everyone likes to have their own threads. :)

Back to the topic at hand. :)

Until the reason for DE is factually known, there is no surefire way to prevent DE. There's a lot of guessing and posturing on the internet about it, but that's all it is. Talk and BS.

"I think" keep on giving him floting food dun let him hunt for food on the bottom .. thats what i think and i'm no arowana expert i'm still new

Yes, that's often mentioned. But to prove a point, I have an RTG that has been eating off the bottom of the tank for 5 years and he does not have drop eye.

I've also seen 6 inch gold and red aros with drop eye that have only been fed floating foods.

Head trauma, genetics, water quality and food types are all mentioned as potential causes.
