Hi guys,
Got my FIRST arowana 1 week ago and it's a silver thats 3" long.

I read a thread about drop eye and Don't know what it is. I know I sound like a newby (because I am) but could someone tell me what it is, and how I can prevent it if its bad?
Thanks.

The eyes look down, like they're dropping. There's no sure fire way to prevent it. It seems like luck is your best bet. It won't hurt the fish, so don't worry too much. It'll probably happen if it's a silver.

What does it look like? pics? what do you mean by dropping?

its when they eye is looking down and you cant prevent it unless you have it in a big pond at small size
The is the order of Most common to get DE
1.Silver Aro-Common
2.Asian Aro-Sometimes
3.Australian Aro-Sometimes
4.Black Aro-Very Rare
5.African Aro-very rare

How big do they have to be to get it? I googled a pic and I personaly don't mind it, but does it hurt the fish?

Sorry to double post, but do all silvers get it? I've seen pics of some BIG silvers with perfect eyes.

Do their eyes still work if they do get drop eye???

Here's an illustration.

My jardini, no drop eye

My silver, with drop eye (and yes, he can still see)

Edit:Not all silvers will get it, but most do.

Thats not bad at all! I thought the eyes fell out or something crazy.
It can still see too so I don't mind that one bit.
