dropping ph

hi guys i am from sydney. i have some malawii's

if you guys didnt already know, sydneys water quality is not the best and the ph is very low

ive tried a couple of ph up powders and liquid boosters but they dont work, ive also read that if i keep adding it, it will shock my fish

so does anybody have any ideas on how to keep my ph steady and above 7?

Crushed coral. pH will buffer out at around 8.2

Add as substrate or place in canister/HOB filter.
