Okay, so, a betta I had was euthanised once she had dropsy... I quarantined her for a day before doing so. I believe it was because of the fluctuating temperatures since her tank was near the air-condition which is why it now has a heater which I'm testing tonight.

So, it has been 23 days since she had passed and I've done nothing to the tank until today. I washed the sponge filter then cleaned the filter floss of the HOB in a cup of tank water, along with adding some of those ceramic rings. I'm worried about the possibility that there could still be the disease floating around in there since I'm planning to put my favourite betta in there if all goes well with the filter.

I've been told I should sterelise it? (Which I'm worriedv about since there are live plants in there and my java fern which is dying??? Was moved there to recover.) Then I did some research and it said I could leave it as the parasite would die off without a host for so long...

The only inhabitants of the tank now is a grown Ramshorn and a bunch of babies. Help?

Think sterilizing wouldn’t be a bad idea. Could get rid of the java moss and media. Empty the tank and clean with bleach. Start over again.

I can't toss the java fern, it's rare to get plants here since imports are illegal without permits

Then dip with bleach and water combo. 1:9 ratio. Cross ur fingers no transmission.
