how would i get my gar on dry foods? its only eating feeders at the moment but i want him on krill.

How big? I got mine at around 13" or so, he'd eaten feeders all his life, 2 days in my tank and he was pounding f/d krill. It shouldn't take long. If it's a small gar you might want to wait until it's grown some.

how big is he?
if he is big enough (probably 10" plus, though i dont do this) you can starve him for a few days then try adding the krill. he doesnt eat, starve a few more days and try again
if he is smaller than this i wouldnt try it

you shouldn't starve the fish. add the krill or smelt everyday, dangling it at the water surface helps. if the fish doesn't eat, don't be discouraged. try again the day after. the gar will eventually learn.

how big is the fish btw. 8inch is the safe size to bee converting. any smaller and they should be given access a steady supply of feeders 24/7

thanks for correcting me xander
(mines only on feeders only so i was only going off of other posts and onfo)

IT DEPENDS ON HOW BIG HE IS WHEN THEY GET BIGGER ITS EASIER TO FEED THEM PELLETS,FILLETS ETC...
