Drylok Question

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
with all honesty,I wouldnt use it,that product is not ment for underwater use,its also a latex paint....hardieboard,Ive never heard of an aquarium being built out of it,it turns to mush when its wet

i would brown coat the hardy board or use plywood and fiber glass it... i dont trust hardy board by itself...

I have seen one tank made with drylock and hardiboard. After about a year it devolped a leak. The owner thinks it was a seam that went. He resealed it with sanitered and hasn't had a problem since.

Sorry to say it OP, but bud is right. I think hardiboard would be fine with epoxy...

I would not reccommend the drylock- I used to to waterproof my basement, but no way I would use it to waterproof a tank.

I messed up,meant to say its water proof with drylok on it.and That Fish Guys tank developed a leak because he said he broke a seam,it was totally his fault,i think im going for it,as i only have like 30$ in a tank thats going to be 5x3x2 (i had alot of the hardibacker and 2x4s,21.98$ for the drylok,8.98 for a sheet of hardibacker)
Sorry for any typos,my english is bad.

And also,i know its kinda my fault, but the question is not if you guys would recommend it ,its if the link up there is the right stuff,i bet you guys didnt even bother to click on it. (sorry if it sounds hostile, but its been proven that drylok and hardi board lined aquariums are ok for fish and i dont really care if i have to do sanitred a year later, since i only have like $30 into it)

all you need is some steel studs, drywall screws and youll have a nice shower stall!!!!!!!I would really like see how you do it........
