drylok tanks

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I can't say I have one really still holding up, but I filled mine tonight for the first time since i finished building it, and so far, haven't seen one leak. I really liked working with the drylok, and like how everything is turning out. Sorry I couldnt tell you how it is from a longevity stand point, but give me a few years and I'll let you know :P

Drylock was not made to be submerged. If I remember correctly, they only warranty it on basement walls for two years. Too many other alternatives to risk on this.

Though I have no first hand experience with drylok except on my filter I am just passing on information from the UGL website. I would think that if it can be used for concrete ponds then it will withstand being submerged. So we will see in my experiment, though only 5-6" of the filter will be holding water I do not think I will have a problem.

Here is some information from the UGL datasheet ;

Food for the Drylok debate.

I was just installing the bulkheads into my DIY OHF and I painted a little thick in the holes drilled for the bulkheads. ad I was carefully tapping the bulkheads in a chunk chipped off. However it was not just the drylok that chipped off, it took a large chunk of the ply too.

Food for thought
