Just a few new pictures from my favorite place to hike. Comments and photography tips and suggestions are always welcome. I am sort of teaching myself about photography so I am open to new tricks and ideas...

Cool! Love the moss on those trees (or vines, whatever they are). And a cute little armadillo... It's been a long time since I've seen an armadillo in person.

Great start.

A speedlight would make a world of difference with some of the pictures you took. I like the last one, But it would of had been better if it was one shadow instead of two. I like bright colors, that's why I play around with satiation a lot.

Other then that, nice job. What camera are you shooting with?

Thanks, that last shot was actually a test shot that was not composed at all but turned out nice. I was just trying to get the auto focus to work properly but I completely agree with what you said about it. The first group of pics I was using a Nikkon D40 and after the armadillo pics, I was using a cannon s90 point and shoot which takes better pics than the DSLR if I do say so myself but it lacks the lens attachments that I love about Digital SLR's.

What is a speedlight? I imagine it is a type of flash attachment?

Speed light is a external flash that mounts on the DSLR, not the built in one. I find it really hard to AF with the D40, even in manual mode. It's rather hard to AF. IMO. But, practice makes better.

Speed light cna be exspinve. If you dont want to spend alot of money you could try editing with photo shop or gimp

True....But, photography in general is a expensive hobby all in all. Just like any other hobbies. Lenses, Body, flash/es, tripod, etc.... There is only so much you can do with editing.
