someone told me that resting the 2 fluorescent strip lights on the 2 braces in the middle of the tank is a big risk to breaking the braces. Is this true? Any advice to get around this? Also could anyone give me advice as to where to get a nice set of datnoids? Im looking for 4 small ones in the nyc area. Thanks

not true at all as long as you are using a glass top along with them.
most companies like Aqueon for instance recommend using twin 36" strip lights on 6 foot braced tanks.

I think the problem with braces breaking happens when people put a light directly over the brace and it melts.
I have a 36" coralife twin tube T5HO and the whole fixture is very light, no way two of them would break a brace
