So guys consider this the prelude to my planted aquarium trials.

I've been lurking for a while and have finally decided what to do withy tanks.

I currently am running 3 bowfronts tanks. 2x 36 gallons and 1 155gallon

The goal of this project is to decide what is the best method for planting my 155g

So I will use the two 36's to try two very different methods.

This first 36 will be built using the walstad method
(We shall call this tank..... "Avatar")

The second 36 will be a hi-tech of sorts with mineralized soil and co2 injection
( we shall call this tank..... I dunno you decide)

Both tanks will contain the same plants, livestock, filtration, and lights.

I know the tanks are not 100% true to their methods but these are the two types of setups that are feasible for me.

I am currently waiting on my soil supplements and co2 kit.

Once I get those it will be game on!

So what do you guys think?

Stay tuned

I would possibly just try one method at a time, since you only really need to find what works for you an then go from there...

Unless you just enjoy experimenting and are planning on ultimately running 3 planted tanks :)

Part of my motivation definitely comes from the joy of experimenting. And I've always had multiple aquariums going at once.

^ No doubt, i mean i was in the same boat as you not that long ago when i re-did my 60G into a basic planted tank, which after about 1 month ended up as basically a high tech one...
