Hey guys I'm looking for help on building a stand for my 37 gallon (30 x 12 x 22high) with a 20 under it (24 x 13 x 16high), but I haven't really built much before. :)

I saw a diagram on here a while back, but I don't know where to find it. I know I'm supposed to use 2x4's and deck screws, and thats pretty much it. I want to go to the lumber place asap before it closes, thanks for the help

This one?

btw, do I need to cover the top with ply? Cuhz I have a huge sheet of it sitting in my back patio

And what's the difference between the red and orange pieces as well as the yellow and blue ones?

If your tanks have trim, then no. Just make sure you add in some additional bracing on the bottom to support the exact dimensions of the 20 that will go underneath.

Nothing. They just make them different colors so that you can see how each piece fits in the puzzle.

color coded by size?
Oops, Mike caught me. Theya re coded by size. This drawing apparelty suggests using 2x6s for the exterior and 2x4s for the center. I suggest just using 2x4s for the whole thing.

I agree, just go with 2x4s. I've built many stands and all are just 2x4
