Does anybody know the average size for a adult of this species.Im thinking about getting one and placing it in a 29 gallon.Would this keep it for life,or would i have to upgrade.
Duboisi males only get to 5 inches, while females are lucky to get to 4 inches. If your 29 gallon is just going to have one male as a single specimen, go for it!
Word for the wise-Duboisi do like groups, but if you ignore that fact, a 29 gallon is fine for a single specimen.

a minimun tank for a single one is a 40g and for a little group must be a 55g tank
eventhought its just 1 specimen, its a very active and aggressive cichlid...all tropheus are very active and require a lot of swimming space and a lot of rock cover.
