Duboisi rescue

Hi everybody

So I go to the lfs and there are two miserable looking duboisi puffers mixed in with a bunch of cichlids, what we call a "malawi" mix. So bought the two 8cm guys and brought them home. Both have nipped fins. They are in a 60l quarantine tank. I have an open 100l tank that is busy cycling will this be ok for them?

Are you sure you have the correct ID on these puffers? They are extremely rare.

I agree with, Kev.
Any LFS lucky enough to bring them in would most likely take good care of such a rare and pricey puffer.
Do you have any pics?

The lfs didn't know what they were. I bought them for R125 each which is the about $12 each.

They don't look like T. Duboisi to me. Do you have any more pics from the side? It's one of the "target" species.
They look in pretty rough shape; certainly a good rescue.

Yes, those help. I believe that it's T. Abei. Hopefully someone else can confirm the ID; a few of the target species look quite similar.

Keep a close eye on them since most of the target species can be quite aggressive.

So back to the original question, is a 100l ok and should they be kept separate?
