Is it a bad thing? Because i have a bunch on the top of my planted tank and when it slowed down due to max capacity it stopped but BBa started to grow but i took half out and the duckweed started to grow again the BBa died off

Howdy,
duck weed will block light from your tank. That might the the cause of your BBa. Too much light: green algae. Too little or bad light: BBa. Just keep the duck weed in check and don't let it take over. It's not bad per se, as it removes nitrates quickly and effectively.

i hate it but it can have its plus. just try and take as much as you can out a couple times a week and you should be fine.
