Hi everybody. I have a problem. The 300 gallon tank i just set up has the remnants of duct tape all around the top of the tank. The previous owner did this for reasons i do not understand. The stuff is hard as hell to get off the acrylic, so i was wondering if anyone has any ideas of how to get it off easier than just scrubbing it with a soft rag. I was told by someone at a hardware store that WD 40 will work and not harm the tank. It doesn't harm the tank, but it doesn't work either. Any ideas?

Goo Gone :)

You can find it most anywhere.

It will remove the tape and not harm your acrylic(but PLEASE test a small corner area first just to be sure. I would hate for any advice I give to cause you problems!). Be sure to wash and rinse the tank well after use.

Thanks, Ill give it a try somewhere on the back first. I think i have a bottle laying around my house somewhere.

Just make sure none of that enters your tank. Could be a nasty ending.

You can also buy adhesive remover, it comes in a can. For sure this will work but read label to see if its acrylic safe. If it dosnt say and you decide to buy it test it out first in a small spot. GL

Yeah im gonna give goo gone a shot. I have a bottle from over the summer when i was cutting down some pine trees. I loved the stuff cause it took the sap right off my hands when nothing else could. Im pretty confident it will work. Thanks guys.
