Hey guys, i just looked into my tank and realized my dull eye royal pleco is bloated. This guy, for the month ive had him, has done real well. See him eating waffers at time but for the most part he hides and only rarely do i see him eat, unless check the tank at night.
Well i just looked into the tank and he was bloated. I hadnt noticed any odd signs nor did i notice any increasing size until now. I dont remember him being bloated yesterday, but i also wasnt paying that close attention.
What meds could help treat this? I never see poo from the pleco, especially since its in a 20g with an xp3, i never really see waste for long before getting sucked up. what do you guys recommend i do?
For food ive been feeding API algae waffers and there are 2 types of wood in there
thanks

tank also houses oto cats and kribensis fry, all acting normal

That is bad! I would try a salt does if you have a smaller tank 2 teaspoons for every gallon. And see if he will eat mysis shrimp to help get him pooping. Drift wood is a must too.Good luck he is really bloated, I don't think that could happen all in one day?

I would try epsom salt specificilly. And I wouldnt feed the shrimp, I sould do shelled pea's. That will get him pooping in no time and isn't dangerous for him to eat...

shelled peas. Thats wierd, i'd think mostly carnivorous fish would get bloating.... plecos generally eat algae no? shouldnt that have fiber?
