not the type of question youde expect from me and it might sound stupid but here goes...

so i know redtail shark have white tips on their dorsal fin, but are they suppose to have them on all there fins except the tail? mine has all its black fins with edges in white. is this common? some sort of determination of sex?
:screwy:

i dont really know but if it helps mine has white spot only in dorsal fin, and i dont recall seeing any like u saying but everything is possible in the fish world lol

Yes it is.

Do you have pics to post? I'm not quite understanding your description.

i dont have pics yet as u know they like to hide. i can describe. Most redtail shark have a white tip on ther dorsal fin. but mine has th same white edging on all its fins. The tail is bright red. what i was wondering if this white edging on ALL its fins is normal or what does it mean?

lol wel it seems my dumb question has everyone puzzled. i will try to get a pic.

is it not a sign of breeding season, just a thought mind
well ive never seen this before, and since not much is known on hwo these would breed in home aquaria i would say its nt impossibl to think this is some kind of breeding dress, but who knows..

As far as I know, only juveniles have the white marking. How old/big is it? It should lose the white eventually.

its about 4-5" ive had it for about 5months now, it was 1" when i got him :) hes always had the dorsal fin marking but the other fin white markings are new.
