I had to transfer my Severum the other day from a new setup with a GT as the Sev was getting chased a picked on too much (even though the GT was about a 3rd his size, but I digress). I threw him back into the big planted tank he grew up in, and was removed from only about 3 weeks ago. I didn't think twice about pH but I should have - the planted tank has CO2 injection and the water in my area comes out of the tap hard and alkaline.

This was a couple days ago, and last night when I got home from work I saw the Sev was coloured darkly and had what looked like a pimple on his face! pretty sure he's experiencing some pH shock and is none too happy. He's still eating like a pig and looks ok otherwise (no whitening of his fin edges, no excessive mucus production), so I'm hoping he'll get past it soon.

In the meantime, I feel dumb :irked:

it's a good sign he's eating. It happens to the best of us, just careful not to move him for a while. Good luck
