It is with much regret I offer my perfectly tame soon to be 3 yr old Dumeril's Boa for sale.
I am a lifer when it comes to keeping pets and for the first time, my situation dictates I get rid of this snake; I have two small children and do not feel comfortable having a large snake around. It's just not practical for me.
I bought her in Jan 2008 as a female though I never had her sexed. I do not power feed and Dumeril's grow and metabolize food a bit slower than other Boa's so she's only about 3 ft long. She readily eats F/T sm/med rats every 10-14 days.
She is perectly tame but care should be taken when removing her from her enclosure; Dumeril's are ambush predators and I would not just stick my hand in front of her nose (This is true for ALL Dumerils btw). once out, she is quite tame and never bites.
Potential buyers should be aware they will end up with a friendly but very strong 6ft+ snake. Dumerils', becasue they sit and wait rather than cruise for food, can get away with a smaller enclosure than a Red Tail, Columbian, etc.
She's getting larger but still fits her water dish just fine:
