Haven't been around for a bit, been spending more time on reptiles lately. Figured since I got my camera back I'd take a few pics of my V. dumerilii.
Bought her at a show a little while back, not sure of sex.
Very interesting species, intelligent and inquisitive...when she's not lounging around. She's doing great on small crabs, crayfish, shrimp, rodents and ground turkey. She's in the middle of shedding in these pics.

how is she for handling? i held one at a show a while back and it made my wrists look like i was cutting myself:grinno:

Thanks for the replies.
ceeej31: Yeah, she has typical monitor claws. I don't have the time/patience to file them down, although it would probably do wonders for handling her. I try to wear gloves most of the time handling larger lizards due to claws. She's calming down nicely and has never struck, even when I first obtained her (she was an ltc with a group) she tail whipped and hissed, but would only charge with her mouth closed.
Vicious Fish: Yeah wish they always kept juvi colors.

nice!!!and healthy
