I'm in the process of building and setting up my first salt water tank so go easy on me. LOL I have had fresh water tanks for over 20 years so I know enough to screw up pretty good.

I'm planing on setting up an automatic water change system. The only problem I have is where to dump the salt water during the change. I have a septic system so it cant go in there. I know dumping it in the yard will kill the plants or grass.

I was thinking about digging a 3' deep trench about 60' long or so and using the brain field pipe with the Styrofoam allready on it but wonder if that will eventually cause a problem with the grass above it.

What are you guys doing with it that have septic systems?

Thanks,
Bob

Could you bury something like that in your yard. It could be as simple as digging a large hole, laying down a 1' or more base of rock. Set a 55 gallon plastic barrel in the hole with lots of holes drilled in the side. Backfill the barrel at least half way up with rock.
You are in Florida so frost line should't be an issue. Then be creative with piping to go from your tank to the underground chamber soakway.
