hey guys
i was cleaning out my tank
which i havent done in awhile
and i stired up the sand
and the water turned brownish greyish
after it settled
theyre was this weird dustlike sediment on the bottom of the tank
ive siffened the crap out but i have no salt to i had to reuse the water after it all settled
time for a complete water change??

Ner, sounds normal to me. Probably not enough water circulation. It will settle where the circulation is low, ie at corners and things, specially after a water change, when you've just stirred up the (previously settled) particulate.

Keep stirring it up into the filters for them to remove, then clean the filters, and possibly invest in more powerheads.

Ya I saw this to so I doubled my return pumps to a pair of 400gph. I extended the return with pvc to the front corners (it's a 90gal corner tank) and drilled 1/8" holes every four inches in the down tube to make directional spray bars. I've not had much trouble since. Keep your rock from blocking the current by moving it away from the glass and you can get the whole tank spinning. The fish love the current.
