Mile High in Northern AZ, baby!~
OK I got a collection of DVD's.
I wanna put them on my laptop hard drive so we can watch them later on vacation...
Or
make a set of back up copies, so if they get trashed I still have my originals...
Any help?

does your comp have a dvd drive/burner? you can copy to your comp and then either leave it at that(takes up quite a bit of memory i think), or then burn the movie(s) to a blank dvd-r disk(s). you can also buy stand alone units that burn dvd's.

not that simple you need the ripping software and decodeing
at the very least you will need ahead nero and DVD shrink3.2

You can save some space by downloading some software that will allow you to edit out all the extra garbage that are on them and save just the movie alone.
To make a backup to a DVD you will need decrypting software and copyright removal software to do so. If you want that go to Slysoft.com. They have some 21 day trial software to do this.
