I was wondering if it would be possible to get dwarf cichlid to live cichlids that will eventually get larger, right now ive got 2 texas and a jd all around 4-5 inches ,so im thinking if i s tart now i could have a big tank with them and a fullgrown oscar and a bunch of dwarfs.Id be guessing like a 200 or more would be good for them all once full grown

well i mean my texas just by the size of its mouth doesnt look like it could eat anything larger than a guppy right now

in my experience texas cichlids are mean as ****, even at a young age. I had 2 females got them around 1.5inch over the couple months i had them they grew to about 2.5-3inches, i tried to introduce them to each of my 6 tanks and started fights with everything from 8inch jacks to a 6inch flowerhorn. I wouldn't trust them in a tank with anything but thats just me lol.

As long as the dwarves don't fit in their mouth, which could be a problem with the Oscar. I don't think you'll have too many problems with aggression though

oh ok cool cause one of the texas is a wimp and the other one just hangs around with the jd just gotta get a bigger tank now

I am currently housing giant CA/SA with diminutive Tanganyikans. As long as the giant cichids are not piscivorous or overly aggressive, I don't see any problem.

The illustration pics below show an 11" V. sysnpillum housing with Julies, and a 10" Green Terror housing with Leulupi. The diminutive Tangs can easily fit into the mouths of the either giants. Not only they don't bother one another, the small Tangs are making babies in the rock caves. But I won't try that with Peacock Bass, Jaquar or Oscar as small fish are their natural food.
