Hello,
I've breed many fish but am starting to do it on a bigger scale. I've successfully raised killi and Discus fry but am having difficulties with dwarf cichlids. I have rams, HRPs, Cutteri, Rainbow Cichlids, and Curviceps breeding but the fry seem to die after a few days. I been trying to feed them partially melted bloodworms and grinded fish food. I figured they would eat the residue's off the bottom. Doesn't seem to work. Parents also seem to gobble up all the food. Is it better to take the fry out of the tanks and put them a tank by themselves. I am about to start hatching baby brine shrimp. Any suggestions or ideas would be helpful.

I also have all these breeding fish separate in 20L tanks with sponge filters.

microworms, deroworms, daphnia seems to do the trick for me- the trick is they gotta be LIVE and give a plenty!

For some reason I have always never done brine shrimp

I don't do bloodworms with any fries in my tanks

its really up to you if you want to separate the fries however the risk runs more killing them by mistake when transferring from one tank to another though sometimes the parents eat em all (nature at its finest- probably knows I'll cull them if they're not up to the grade)

I just leave mine alone with the parents and let nature take its course

Microworm. Aren't those the little white worms you can harvest. Where do you get your's from, including the daphnia also.

And thanks for the reply.

take the mother of the new fry into the babies seperate tank before she releases them if their mouth breeders, if not remove the eggs before they hatch.

And for the love of the wonderfull mercifull lord USE GALLONS NOT LITERES!!!!
