Dwarf Gourami Sick?

My girlfriend has had a female dwarf gourami for about 6 months. She was perfectly fine till about four days ago. Now she is laying on the bottom of the tank and is still "breathing". She comes up to the surface every now and then. She also appears very thin. She is in there with another male gourami and he appears fine. the water is also fine. they are in a 16 gallon tank with some platties. She looked like she was full of eggs and one morning she looked normal, now she is skinny and acting like stated above. any help would be great!!!

Maybe she was pregnant laid the eggs and the other fish ate them and now she's just gone through a lot of stress, idk though

thats what im starting to think, either that or she has parasites. but with no live food and none of the other fish having it, idk how she would of gotten it

My gf also had wanted a dwarf gourami and after about a week and a half he started doing what u are describing as well and then died randomly, idk they just don't seem to be very hardy fish in my experience

Ya, she had a male in the tank as well and this morning woke up to find them both on the bottom. Poor things, I feel bad as I dont know what was wrong with them. Going to be buying her a gold barb though. They seem pretty hardy from experience and arent pricey.
