Mass confusion here. So I will ask the question the best way I can. I have a 29 gal tank it currently has 3 platys and one fry and 2 cory cats. I have heard just about every possible answer, but here goes I want to keep my platys and add one more cory cat to my tank. That will make it a total of six fish. So how many Dwarf Gouramis could I keep, some people say only one others say maybe as many as three? Also was told that I could and then could not put a Golden gourami in the 29 gall tank, if I didn't get any dwarfs. I don't want to overstock or kill any fish just for the sake of having more than one gourami:confused::confused::confused::confused:. Dazed and confused

Well you posted under Frequently Asked Questions, a better place would of been "General Aquaria Discussion". Not trying to be mean or anything just telling you that you would of got more answers there and for your future reference.

I noticed your other thread was under "General Aquaria Discussion"...so it was probably just a mistake lol

I have a 29 gallon with 6 adult mollies and a pink kissing gourami (~2.5"). The tank is pretty well planted and everyone seems happy. Your post didn't say what/if you had vegetation in there but I would start with one gourami, wait a while, test the water, then if everything is good as far as water parameters I would add a second. Just remember if your platys are like my mollies you will have plenty of fish in that thank before too long. Good luck with whatever you decide. :)

With proper filtration and keeping up with your water changes, you could easily add two pair of dwarf gouramies to your tank. Keep in mind that your plattys will keep reproducing and will eventually have to be thinned out. Live plants added to the tank will greatly help with the water quality.
