I saw some really cute puffers at Wal-Mart today, and I got to looking at them. The worker said that they were dwarf puffers, which I've always wanted (and have a 10 gallon available), so I picked one up. I got it home, and on closer inspection, I believe its actually a green spotted puffer instead of a dwarf puffer.
I will have a 30 gallon tank that will be empty in two months, so I'll be able to move him there then. My question is, will he be ok in a 10 gallon until then? He is currently in a 3 being treated for ick (ugh) and then he will be moved to the 10. He is an inch long (not including tail).
I also don't know much about brackish conversion. I do know he was being kept in a tank that was treated with freshwater salt instead of marine salt. Should I put him in freshwater salt now, then slowly acclimate to marine? Or does he need to start in marine now?
Thanks for the help.
